Gaylord News
Job: logo design
Client: Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Oklahoma
Tone: stately, novel, rooted in history
Gaylord News is a newswire service created by the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Oklahoma. Each semester, this program stations journalism students in Washington, DC to report on national stories that impact Oklahoma. Those stories are available to Oklahoma news outlets to publish and distribute to local audiences.
I wanted this logo to have a distincly “Washington, DC” look while maintaining visual cohesion with the existing Gaylord College logo, so I used the geometric outline style of the existing logo and created a symbol representing the capitol building.
